MSI Introduces Two New Business Laptops Featuring Intel’s Core i7-13620H CPU

MSI has unveiled two new business-focused notebooks in Japan: the Modern 15 H B13M 5039JP and the Modern 14 H D13MG 5029JP. These laptops are engineered with productivity at their core and are equipped with Intel’s Core i7-13620H processor.
Both models come with Microsoft Office Home & Business 2024 pre-installed, along with a one-year subscription to Microsoft 365 Basic. This package provides business users with access to essential applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as 100GB of OneDrive storage.
Currently, this offer is exclusive to Japan. Notably, MSI is not alone in this initiative; Dynabook has also bundled similar software with two of its latest laptops, indicating a potential trend in the market. This is a development we hope to see expanded globally.
Why Choose Windows 11 Home?
The Modern 15 H B13M 5039JP features a 15.6-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) non-glare LCD display, equipped with 32GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. It operates on Windows 11 Home.
Connectivity options include USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with video output and USB PD compatibility, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI, a 920,000-pixel webcam, an audio combo jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. The laptop measures 359 x 241 x 19.9 mm and weighs approximately 1.9 kg. However, its battery life is limited to just four hours during video playback (up to eight hours when idle), making it advisable to stay close to a power source.
On the other hand, the Modern 14 H D13MG 5029JP is the smaller variant, featuring a 14-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) non-glare LCD display while maintaining the same memory and storage configuration as its larger counterpart.
This model includes Thunderbolt 4 support, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a similar webcam setup, HDMI output, an audio combo jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. It measures 313.7 x 236 x 18.6 mm and weighs around 1.6 kg. Its battery life is slightly better—up to six hours during video playback and up to fourteen hours when idle.
Interestingly, despite the inclusion of Microsoft’s productivity software at no additional cost with these laptops, they come pre-installed with Windows 11 Home. Given that MSI recommends Windows 11 Pro for business use, it is surprising that the default operating system was not upgraded to align with the productivity suite offered. Both laptops are available exclusively in Classic Black. Pricing and availability details have yet to be announced.
